05/17/2002 Entry: Why Aunt May Could Kick MJ’s Pretty Little Ass
"Boston's Weekly Dig.com" published a feminist critique of MJ's character in the Spiderman movie. Check it out. While one might quibble with the details, I find the basic premise sound: this movie departs from the comic book in many ways, updating the story for modern audiences, but MJ is thoroughly stuck in the sexist past of wimpy women.
