Seder -- for twenty -- went fairly smoothly, much to my releif. With the exception of a couple of sauces, I performed no experiments. The menu:
Greek charoset ala Nancy Friedman The sauces: 1. Simple yogurt & mint, with lots of turmeric. 2. Ground walnut & cilantro, spiced with yellow peppers and thinned with small amounts of yogurt and olive oil -- this one mellowed a great deal after a day in the 'fridge. And I made fresh horseradish -- just whirled it in the cuisinart with white vinegar and a little bit of canola oil. Powerful stuff. Sometime during the meal preparation, Z's mom commented that I must be Sephardic at heart, given the flavors I'm drawn to. On another note, Z & I went househunting today...there are some gorgeous houses on the market right now. Posted by sev @ 10:46 PM PST |
