sev's list of people

This page is always under construction -- I'm happy to be encountering new people all the time!

This is a list of personal home pages which I think should be checked out, either for their merit as people or for the merit of the page. I'll let you decide which are which (and which are both). I don't spend all of my time in front of this computer (honest I don't!). I do get out once in awhile, and I know some of these people IRL -- they're the people with whom I get out, get around, and get down. There are also a few pictures of people whom I know in my photo gallery. The neat thing about the net, though, is that I can have conversations with people who live far away. Some of them are here in this list, too. Finally, as I explain to anyone who will listen, I'm fussy about html. While surfing the net, I look for pages which are informative and well-organized as well as entertaining. Some of the people here are people who have created pages which have delighted me lately.

Weblogs I Read, Sometimes

I'm not as reliable as used to be with regards to keeping up with reading regularly-updating-things, but I try.

General List of People

  • I don't get to see anywhere near enough of Aynjel now that she's moved away from the west coast. She's a beautiful woman, a talented writer, and a delightful kisser.
  • Rob's page is interesting, informative, diverse, and well-organized. I couldn't ask for more -- unless it was for more of the same. Oh, and he's quite cute, too. :)
  • Dan is an internet security guru. He sometimes refers to himself as a professional computer spy. He's one of the most wonderful people I know, and I'm very glad that I know him.
  • Cappy Harrison is a sweet, sharp person I first encountered on soc.bi and later on the irc channel #bisex, now known as #bi.
  • Ray Whiting is a neat person I know from IRC.
  • I used to work with Stinky. He was one of the very few good things about that job.
  • Ethan is my sexy and fascinating sweetie, who lives in Seattle and works for Microsoft..
  • Even before I moved to Seattle, it seemed I was collecting a disturbing number of friends from Microsoft. Mez is another fabulous friend in Seattle.
  • Dear Merlin moved to the Bay Area shortly before I left. I'd first met him online, and was chagrined to discover that we were to cross paths IRL only breifly.
  • AnneEmerald has a lovely little corner of cyberspace, and she quotes from me in her section on bisexuality.
  • I know Cat, Auntie Deb, and Michelle from some mailing lists I'm on.
  • Darrel is one of those wonderful people I wish I'd met long ago.
  • Ayashi.net isn't really a personal website, but it's webmaster's corner mostly is.
  • Patrick is a whiz with Photoshop and has a gallery of pretty pics including my favorites, goddess photocollages. He also runs a webzine called In Orbit Around the Web. Apparently, he's done some contract work for my favorite former employer, although we weren't there at the same time.
  • Anthony Thyssen has created a castle in which net-surfers can wander. He provides some intriguing thoughts about both the how and why of creating a web-adventure -- and he composed them long before some of his thoughts became apparent to the rest of the 'net.
  • Ender's Realm has been an incredible influence on my own pages. There are plenty of graphics available for page-construction, and this is where, years ago, I first encountered the button-bar-on-the-bottom-of-the-page idea, which I promptly swiped (and which started being used heavily on the web a year or two later). He's definitely a pioneer.
  • Cosma has a page full of my favorite thing to find on the web--interesting, engaging text.
  • Adiane, a bisexual grrrl, has a lovely and clever page.
  • Molly is my gorgeous redheaded babe.
  • Jehan and Alex are two of my faboo coworkers.
  • I first met Jennie on alt.poly, and thought she was really cool. Then I met her in person, and now I think she's even cooler.

Reciprocal Links

Few people ask me to actually reciprocate when they link to me, but I still feel like it's the right thing to do, most of the time. Since I've been running statistics more often, I've noticed that people actually are linking to me, though a lot of people find me through search engines and my usenet posts as well.

Dead Links

Link rot may not be the bane of my life, but it's definitely the bane of some of my webpages -- this one, for instance. I dream of a day when people's personal websites end up with more stable urls. We're getting close, but we're not there yet. People put together pages while they're in college, and the rest of us experience link rot when they graduate. People switch ISPs. People sell their domain names for silly amounts of money. And so on. If you know where any of these pages have gone, let me know.
  • Dan introduced me to Haley recently, and I'm so glad he did.
  • Drewcifer is another person I met on soc.bi. I delight in our conversations; he's wise beyond his years (and he agrees with me, probably too often for his own good).
  • I know Marrk from irc channel #bi.
