The Pennsylvania Railroad for the Railway 32 Screensaver
For the last couple of years, I've been producing a screensaver
module for the
Railway 32
screensaver, based on the
Pennsylvania Railroad
of the north-eastern United States.
NEW! The Baldwin model
DR6-4-20 "Passenger Shark", PRR class BP20, in five different
paint schemes is the most recent arrival on the
PRR Diesel page.
To be notified when there is news on the PRR for Railway 32 project,
join the Railway 32
USA Yahoo group. This group is only for discussing Railway 32
American trains and modules; general Railway 32 stuff should remain
on the Railway
32 group.
Also see my ongoing production of a module for the
Eritrean Railway,
a 950mm gauge railway using WWI era Italian steam locomotives, 1930s
Fiat railcars and 1950s diesel locomotives that still operates.

- More about the Railway 32 screensaver and why it's worth it.
- Why the Pennsylvania Railroad?
- My personal take on why I'm interested in the PRR and thus why I
want to work on this.
- Pennsy Steam Locomotives
- The PRR steam locomotive selection currently available.
- Pennsy Electric
Locomotives
- The PRR was the largest electrified road in the USA.
- Pennsy Diesel Locomotives
- Late to dieselize, the PRR acquired the largest fleet of diesels
of any railroad in the United States, and in a wide assortment of
types.
- Pennsy Self-Propelled
Units
- Self propelled trains were used on electrified suburban routes.
- Pennsy Passenger Cars
- A small proportion of the Pennsy's passenger fleet has been
done - much more remains to be drawn.
- Pennsy Freight Cars
- With the sole exception of open hopper cars, which are pretty
much complete, this is very threadbare. Fortunately, because of
freight car interchange with other roads, I can run freightcars
drawn by other Railway32 artist contributors.
- Pennsy Cabins
- 'Cabin Car' was the PRR's name for what most other railroads
called a caboose. PRR cabins had a distinctive style.
