Vicki's Website

Here's some basic info about me:
I'm 33 years old, bisexual and a BBW (Big Beautiful Woman).
I have a BA in communication with a minor in women's studies from Loyola University Chicago (1993). I completed my Master's degree in Computer Information Systems at the University of Phoenix in June 2001.
I moved from Chicago, Illinois to San Diego, California in 1998, after spending my whole life in the Chicagoland area. I spent a few months in Dallas in 2002, but unfortunately no jobs were forthcoming, so I moved back to Chicago in September 2002. I now work for a great company doing application support and I really love it.
Some of my varied interests:
Harry Potter: I've recently REALLY gotten into the world of Harry Potter! The books are all just wonderful, the movie was the best book-to-movie adaptation I've ever seen, and now I'm involved in all sorts of things Potter-related! I'm on a number of email lists for "grownups" (ha! When did I become one of those?!?) that discuss the books and movies, I'm reading and starting to write some fanfiction. There is more stuff out there on Harry Potter than I could EVER hope to list, but here are a few things to check out: Fiction Alley for great fan fiction - look up Morrigan in Riddikulus - that would be me *grin*, Restricted Section for fan fiction that's racier, The Harry Potter Lexicon which gives all sorts of details for others as obsessive as I am, and the Harry Potter for Grownups family of lists if you're interested in joining.
And I am SO Hermione - but if you know me at all, you know how true that is!

Hockey: With my move to San Diego I became a rabid San Diego Gulls fan. I'm no longer there, so I'm now going to get into the Chicago Wolves and the Chicago Blackhawks, starting this fall.
My Car:
Okay, it may not be some big, expensive thing, but I have a new car and I love it! I got a
red Toyota Echo - it's so cute and so comfy, and very reasonably priced!
Reading: I have to thank my mother (for this among many other things), who helped me to learn to read before I went to school. That turned me into a voracious reader, and I have many favorite authors - Janet Evanovich, Dianne Day, Lynne Murray, David & Leigh Eddings, Elizabeth Peters, among others. If it's a mystery, chances are I'll love it. I also have a thing for witches and vampires. Erotica is also a good thing - Carol Queen comes to mind.
Gabriel Knight: One of my favorite things are Sierra's Gabriel Knight computer games. They are mysteries that usually have a weird supernatural twist to them. They are so much fun, and actor Tim Curry provides the voice of Gabe - yum! You can find more info about the games at www.gabrielknight.com
Trivia games: I absolutely love "You Don't Know Jack" and Trivial Pursuit. I don't always win, but yes, my head is full of useless knowlege screaming to be released. Some sites where I play online: www.riddler.com and www.uproar.com - you can win prizes but I play too inconsistently so I haven't won anything yet.
Music: After spending a couple of years working in record stores and then as a radio DJ, I got exposed to all sorts of music, so now I have rather eclectic taste. I like country music (Jo Dee Messina and the Dixie Chicks are favorites) but I also like "popular" music as well as more alternative stuff (Garbage, Cake). I'll listen to anything once - I try to be as open minded as possible in all areas. :)
Television: These days, you'll prolly catch me watching CSI and Law and Order, plus the odd program on The Learning Channel, Discovery Channel, or the History Channel.
Fat Acceptance: I'm also a big supporter (pun intended!) of the fat acceptance movement.
Pottery: I LOVE making pottery on a wheel. Once my life gets a little more settled (okay, when will THAT happen??), I want to go back and take classes again, and eventually have my own pottery studio. It's SUCH fun. :)
