TripK, cappy and cowgirl thought it would be fun to get back at marrk so
tripK sent the following msg to the channel list-serv a a joke:
Hey everyone,
I just logged on to the irc and was suprised to see a note left on
Fuzzball for me from someone called "Cupid". I'm wondering if this is the
same Cupid that's been visiting the channel for the past week or so and has
been harrassing myself and a few others. He's been there on a number of
occasions, and while not doing enough to get kicked, he has been a bit rude.
In fact, he gives me the creeps. After constantly being told not to message
me he continuted to do so and while everyone on channel told him not to, he
payed no attnetion to us.I spoke with both Cowgirl and Cappy and they too
recieved messages from Cupid and we were all worried that somehow this guy
has gotten access to the bot in some way. After the problems that Lennier
had, along with the time a few nights ago when someone I've never seen
before had gotten ops somehow, it makes me worried to think that this guy
has been able to reach fuzzball. Is anyone else concerned?...Is there
anything we can do to stop it?

Cappy then followed it up with another letter to the list.
Well, I don't know nothin' 'bout no bots, but I CAN say that this "cupid"
person is scum. One of the lowest forms of life I've encountered on IRC
(and I think I'm being generous when I use the word "life.")
He's harassed me constantly, and when I've tried to ignore him, he changes
his nick and starts in again. I can't get away from this guy! Even when
I change _my_ nick, he finds me somehow.
I come to IRC to have fun, not to be harassed by some creep.
Marrk, trinking that he had really scared some folks, fessed up in the
following note to the list.
Er, um, uh... hehe.. um... *blush*
You see, I'm the one who left the messages on the bot from "Cupid"
early this morning since it's Valentine's Day. I've done this one or twice
in the past to my friends on various holidays just to be cute. Seems it's
not so cute this time...
That "Cupid" is also some guy that net-stalks and harrasses people
is an unfortunate coincidence. I'm very sorry if I caused some worry for
anyone, and I never would have left the messages if I knew about this guy.

Mark then joined #bi and hopped on the party line. Trip and Cowgirl had
left but cappy was still around as were a few other people. Cappy
decided to put marrk out of his misery and told him about the joke in the
