03/31/00 -- So I said to myself, "Let me just check eBay."

... Three weeks later ...

I should've known better

All I wanted was a Trinity action figure from the Matrix.   Or so I thought when I registered for eBay and started poking around the action figure listings. I had tried everywhere else.  I tried online comic book stores.  I tried real life comic book stores.  I could find Switch.  I could find Cypher.   I couldn't find Trinity or Morpheus or Neo.  Well, I couldn't find Agent What'sHisButt, either, but I didn't care about him.

I'll just look for Matrix action figures, I told myself.   Hey, here's a set of all six!  I'll bid on that!  Okay, I didn't get it.   I remind myself that all I wanted was a Trinity action figure.  Well all of the individual Trinity figures are going for $25 a pop.  Way more than I'm willing to spend.  Hey, here's a set of three!  And Trinity is in it!  Cool.

So I won my first auction.  I had Trinity, Morpheus and Neo in my hot little (electronic) hand.  What else did I want?

I turned my eyes toward the action figures I saw in MileHiComics that I wanted.  The toys I couldn't justify paying collector's prices for.

Ohboy.  I should've stopped.  I shouldn't've started.   My desk is out of room.  I can't cram anymore awesome chick action figures on there anywhere!  And I'm still waiting for a handful more to arrive in the mail.

I can easily see how people can become addicted to eBay.
