DESCRIPTION

PNW-BI is an unmoderated mailing list for bisexuals and bi-friendly people who live, physically or emotionally, in the pacific northwest. "Bisexual" is defined very widely here -- if you call yourself bisexual, you are, at least for the purposes of this list.

Discussions include, but are not necessarily limited to:

• discussions related to bisexuality in general
• discussions related to bisexual in the pacific northwest
• planning pnw-area-specific bisexual events, meetings, potlucks, etc.

If you find yourself bogged down with the mail volume, signing off the list isn't necessarily your only available option. A digest version of the list is available at the the pnw-bi mailman page.

GROUND RULES/CONVENTIONS

• Don't piss off the listowner. This is not a democracy, it's a dictatorship.
• Do not share any list mail with anyone who isn't on this list without explicit permission from the person who wrote it and anyone they quoted.
• Do not send commercial advertisements to this list.
• Please keep cross-posting to a bare minimum. This is a "closed" list, which means that only subscribers can post to it.
• Do not send virus warnings, chain letters, action alerts, "true" stories, cookie recipes, attachments, pictures, or executables. If you have something that you absolutely must let people know about, please post a very short description & a request that people email you PRIVATELY if they want a copy.
• Do not assume that everyone is using a similar mailreader as yours. Wrap your lines at 70 characters or less. Don't send HTML mail. Keep your .sig to approximately four lines if you have one.
• Don't send administrative requests to the list. Use the web interface or mail pnw-bi-owner@byz.org for a human being.
• No personal ads. It's fine to discuss your tastes and preferences, and it's fine to suggest a meeting. However, this is not a meat market.
• I will not outlaw flame wars. However, I strongly encourage people to be respectful of each other, to disagree politely, or to ignore people. Flame if you feel you must, but DO NOT resort to calling people names -- insult what they say if you must, but do not insult who they are.
• No identity wars, please. If someone identifies as bisexual, they're bisexual for the purposes of this list. Respect other people's identities.
• Make sure to trim your quotes when replying to a message. Include just the relevant portions of the previous post, not the whole thing.
